Join us for a Golden Ring PMR Tour in Pridnestrovie (formerly Transnistria), our bestselling adventure to the last remnant of the USSR. Explore the unrecognized Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic (PMR), one of Europe’s four frozen conflict zones.
We begin at the intersection of Vladimir Lenin and Karl Marx Streets, walking past the KGB headquarters, kindergartens, and schools. Visit Tiraspol’s main square, home to the largest Lenin statue, a historic WWII tank, the House of Soviets, and Gagarin Square. Experience Tiraspol University and the Drama Theatre for a cultural touch.
Continue on an old Soviet military ferry across the Dniester River, and then visit the Holy Ascension Novo-Nyametsky Monastery in Kitkani Village. Our next stop is Bendery (Tighina), where we’ll explore the main square, the 1992 civil war sites, House of Culture and other local gems.
Optional extras include shopping for Soviet-era souvenirs, trying local “Made in Pridnestrovie” products, enjoying a meal at a Soviet-style canteen, or sharing tea/coffee with locals at their home. You can also visit some other locations in Bederi cityas extension to this Tour.
