We begin our day at the intersection of Vladimir Lenin and Karl Marx Streets in Tiraspol. Walk past the KGB headquarters, kindergartens, and schools, before stopping at Tiraspol’s Main Square where you’ll see the largest Lenin statue in the region, a historic WWII tank, the House of Soviets, and Gagarin Square. Experience the charm of Tiraspol University and the Drama Theatre for a true cultural touch.
Next, we’ll take a break for lunch at a traditional Soviet canteen inside the active police station, where you can enjoy a hearty meal surrounded by Soviet-era décor and a bustling local vibe.
Continue the adventure as we cross the Dniester River on an old Soviet military ferry, and explore Kitkani Village. Here, we’ll visit the Holy Ascension Novo-Nyametsky Monastery, followed by a stop at the Kitkani Bridgehead and the Lenin Statue in front of the House of Culture—symbols of Soviet history nestled in the heart of the village.
Our next destination is Benderi (Tighina) city, where we’ll explore several iconic sites:
monument of Soviet Workers, see the old Soviet Cinema kept in pristine conditions, a piece of history from the Soviet and revolutionary eras.
Remains of Bullet Shots: See firsthand the remnants of bullet shots left from the 1990s Civil War—marking the scars of conflict still visible on the buildings and streets.
Benderi Fortress: Discover the fortifications and rich military history of the fortress.
Memorial of Memory and Sorrow: Pay respects at this solemn monument to those lost in the 1992 Civil War.
